RememberPlease do not make any arrangements to move house without written approval from your landlord. |
The exchange has to be approved by both parties landlord. At any point in the process, either landlord can reject the exchange for a variety of reason. These reasons include, but are not limited to:
If this occurs then both parties will be informed and depending on the circumstances, the adverts will be re-advertised on the website so they can each find someone else to exchange with.
If you think your exchange has been unfairly rejected you will need to contact the landlord who made the decision for further advice.
If the exchange is approved you will be advised of the date you can move. You will also be given an appointment with your new landlord to sign a tenancy agreement and collect the keys.
Before you finalise the exchange make sure you understand your new tenancy agreement and how much rent you will be paying. If you have any questions ask your new landlord.
Keep your moving costs to a minimum until you’ve signed the new tenancy agreement as the exchange could still be rejected.
Pack heavy items in smaller boxes and lighter items in larger boxes.
Keep all your essentials to hand so you wont have to rummage for them on the first night.
