Important Keychoice changes for existing Pennine Tenants
From 21st of November we changed the way we allocate homes to existing Pennine tenants who apply to move home using Keychoice.
Why are we changing? We have had a large increase over the past few years in the number of tenants moving home
through Keychoice, which is costing Pennine an increasing amount of money. We have talked to
tenants and tenant committees, who agreed that we should find ways to reduce this cost, while
still allowing tenants who need to move the ability to do so.
What will happen from 21st November? We will encourage all tenants who wish to move to use our Homeswapper scheme to find another tenant that they can swap homes with.
- 9 out of 10 adverts will contain the following wording “Bids will not be considered for this
property from existing Pennine Housing tenants, unless you have a Gold, Silver+ or Silver
band priority.”
- 1 in 10 homes will still be available for any existing Pennine tenant to bid for.
What will happen from the 1st March 2012? As of 1st March 2012 any new tenants will not be eligible to move homes within Pennine Housing 2000 during the first 2 years of their tenancy, unless they have a clear and established housing need or have applied through mutual exchange
How will this affect me as a tenant? We will still offer a wide selection of properties each week for Pennine Tenants to bid for,
and we hope that more tenants will register for Homeswapper to find other tenants to swap
homes with.
If you would like further information or to talk to someone about your housing options, please
call into any of our offices or contact us at Doorways, The Woolshops, Halifax.
